What I understand
- Emily just learned that the goblin, who is the king, the wife must be a captured wife.
- The goblin's first wife didn't believe in goblins.
- The Goblin King said that his house undergroud was really nice and it was beautiful.
- The Goblins would steal the elf's brides away from them.
- At one time the Goblins and the Elves lived peacefully.
Questions I Have
- Why can't the Goblin King marry his own kind?
- Was Emily still friends with Marak?
- If not, why was Marak still adressing her by her nickname?
- Why did the King decide that the cat would be the protector of Kate and Emily?

Summarzing Statement
- This part of the novel explains Marak's(the King Goblin) feelings toward Kate and how he wants her to like him in order for the marriage to be successful.
