Betsey Brown

The novel that I am reading at this moment is called Betsey Brown by Ntozake and it places a thirteen year old girl in St. Louis which forces her to become an adult pretty quickly. This is some information on it:

Comments

* This novel takes place in St. Louis in the date of 1959.
* Betsey Brown lives with her two sisters, a little brother, a cousin who she hates, both of her parents and her grandmother.
* Betsey is the oldest out of her siblings and she does takes the most responsibility around the house
*Betsey is starting to find herself at first.
* Betsey has to take care of all of those meddling kids
